Success
On our way to creating a 5-star visitor attraction which underpins a bold, creative and far-reaching programme of community engagement and learning.

Braemar Castle has been successfully managed and maintained by Braemar Community Limited since 2007 and has become a thriving visitor attraction.
Operating on a 50 year repairing lease from the Invercauld Estate, much has already been achieved. The roof is now wind and watertight, chimneys have been reinstated and the team have brought to life 12 authentically furnished rooms which tell the story of the Castle’s turbulent history and colourful residents.
Now, as the fabric of the Castle shows signs of deterioration, the opportunity is being seized to restore and develop this 17th century jewel for the future. Braemar Community Limited is currently engaged in delivering a £1.6m project, “Raising the Standard”, which will realise the Castle’s economic and educational potential, working towards a 5-star visitor attraction and launching a bold, creative and far-reaching programme of community engagement, activity and learning.
